-           ஒவ்வொரு ஆணும் பெண்களுக்கு உரிமை மட்டும் தந்தால் போதாது. பாதுகாப்பும்  தர வேண்டும்.  ஆணின் வெற்றிக்கு பின்னால் பெண் இருப்பாள் என்பதை போல் பெண்ணின் வெற்றிக்கு பின்னாலும் ஆண் இருக்க வேண்டும். 

-          தந்தையாக,கணவனாக, சகோதரனாக, நண்பனாக,வழிகாட்டியாக, நல்ல ஒரு துணையாக  இருக்க வேண்டும்.

''மகளிர் தினம்' ஏன் கொண்டாடுகிறோம்? காரணம் அறிவோம்....

இன்று உலக மகளிர் தினம் (International Women's Day).ஆண்டு தோறும் மார்ச் 8 ஆம் தேதி அன்று உலகெங்கும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையால் அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட இந்த நாளில் பல நாடுகளில் பொது விடுமுறை நாளாகும்.

சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினம் இன்று உலகமெங்கும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. ஆணாதிக்க சமுதாயத்தில் இருந்து பெண்களுக்கான உரிமைகளை வென்றெடுத்த நாள் இது என்றே குறிப்பிட வேண்டும். பெண்களுக்கான சமத்துவம், உரிமைகளை வலியுறுத்துவதற்காகவும் மகளிர் தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

18ம் நூற்றாண்டில் அமெரிக்காவில் தொழிற்சாலைகள் மற்றும் அலுவலகங்களில் ஆண்கள் மட்டுமே பணியாற்றினர்.வீட்டு வேலைகளை செய்வதற்காக பெண்களை வீட்டுக்குள்ளேயே முடக்கி வைத்திருந்தனர். பெரும்பாலான பெண்களுக்கு ஆரம்ப கல்வி கூட தரப்படாமல் மறுக்கப்பட்டது.

1857ம் ஆண்டு நிலக்கரி சுரங்கங்கள், தொழிற்சாலைகள், நிறுவனங்களில் பணி வாய்ப்பு தரப்பட்டது. பெண்களால் தொழிற்சாலைகளிலும் வேலை செய்ய முடியும் என்பது உலகுக்கு உணர்த்தப்பட்டது. ஆண்களுக்கு நிகராக பணியாற்ற வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்ததே தவிர, ஊதியத்தில் பெண்களுக்கு அநீதி இழைக்கப்பட்டது.

இதனால் பெண்கள் மிகுந்த வருத்தமடைந்தனர். ஆண்களுக்கு இணையான ஊதியம், உரிமைகள் வழங்கக்கோரி குரல் எழுப்பினர். அப்போதைய அமெரிக்க அரசு இதற்கு செவி கொடுக்கவில்லை. இதனால் அமெரிக்கா முழுவதும் பெண் தொழிலாளர்கள் கிளர்ச்சியில் இறங்கினர், 1857ம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் 8ம் தேதி இதற்கான போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர். 

இப்போராட்டத்தை அரசின் ஆதரவுடன் தொழிற்சாலைகளின் உரிமையாளர்கள் ஒடுக்கினர். அதன் பிறகு 1907ம் ஆண்டு சம ஊதியம், சம உரிமை கேட்டு பெண்கள் போராடத் தொடங்கினர். 1910ம் ஆண்டு டென்மார்க் நாட்டில், பெண்கள் உரிமை மாநாடு நடந்தது. இதில் உலகின் பல நாடுகளை சேர்ந்த பெண்களின் அமைப்புகள் கலந்து கொண்டு, தங்களது ஒற்றுமையை உலகிற்கு அவர்கள் காட்டினர்.

இந்த மாநாட்டில் கலந்துகொண்ட ஜேர்மனி கம்யூனிஸ்ட் தலைவர் கிளாரே செர்கினே, மார்ச் 8ம் தேதியை மகளிர் தினமாக கொண்டாட வேண்டும் என்ற தீர்மானத்தை நிறைவேற்ற வலியுறுத்தினார். பல்வேறு தடங்கல்களால் இந்த தீர்மானம் நிறைவேறவில்லை. 

1920ம் ஆண்டு சோவியத் ரஷ்யாவில் செயின்ட் பீட்டர்ஸ் நகரில் நடந்த பெண்களின் போராட்டத்தில் கலந்து கொண்ட ரஷ்யாவின் அலெக்ஸ்சாண்டிரா கெலன்ரா, ஆண்டுதோறும் மார்ச் 8ம் தேதி உலக மகளிர் தினத்தை கொண்டாட வேண்டும் என்று பிரகடனம் செய்தார்.

இதையடுத்து 1921ம் ஆண்டு முதல் மார்ச் 8ம் தேதி உலக மகளிர் தினம் கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகிறது. 1975ம் ஆண்டை சர்வதேச மகளிர் ஆண்டாக ஐ.நா பிரகடனப்படுத்தியது. 

தற்போது ரஷ்யா, உக்ரைன், உஸ்பெஸ்கிஸ்தான், வியட்நாம், ஆப்கானிஸ்தான், ஆர்மேனியா, அஜர்பைஜான், பெலாரஸ், புர்கினியா பெசோ, கம்போடியா, கியூபா, எரித்திரியா, கஜகஸ்தான், மால்டோவா, மங்கோலியா, மான்டேநெக்ரோ, தஜிகிஸ்தான், துருக்மெனிஸ்தான் ஆகிய நாடுகளில் சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினத்துக்கு விடுமுறை வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

Interviewer:"If the Earth rotates 30 times faster,
